Three Bored White Guys Interview
How’d you come up with your name and what does it mean?
The name was the result of an industrial accident involving a chicken, some bleach and five rather unfortunate guys. As for the meaning, add the preceding ingredients together and you get the picture.
How long have you guys been playing together?
In various incarnations for about five or six years.
How’d you meet?
We met at a bar. A very wonderful bar called Crazy Cats, may it rest in peace. There was whiskey involved… I think.

What is your favourite song of yourselves?
I believe that would have to be ‘We Been Robbed’, because we have…. been robbed that is.

Casey ‘Dance Dance’ Foster and Gisele Bundchen

What is the best place to gig?
Any festival that has a minority or utter lack of hippies.
Care to share anything that what funny that you experienced on tour or at a gig?
There was that one show in Langebaan where the crowd would not let us off the stage (by crowd I mean giant rugby player types and their girls) unless we made some attempt at playing a Brian Adams cover. As it turns out it was quite easy actually. We didn’t have to sing the lyrics, the crowd immediately came in with their own, and we didn’t even have to play the song properly. I think we just played the same three chords over and over. We were instant heroes!
Which part of being in a famous band do you most enjoy?
The Champagne on ice served by the beautiful topless models backstage.
And which part do you enjoy the least?
Having to leave the beautiful topless models to go on and play the show.
How often do you Practise?
Four, maybe five times a year.
What do you do for a living if the band isn’t your living?
We are engineers, writers, record label execs and editors.
Do you make money?
Loads.
What cds do you have out and where can we buy it?
We have an slightly expanded EP out, titled ‘We Been Robbed’. You can get hold of us via myspace and we’ll get you a copy or you can visit some of the independent music stores in Cape Town.
Do you read?
Yes, actually. We like light reading, mostly leaflets or brochures.
Where do you hang out?
Bars.
What does the future have in store for you?
A believe strongly that the very near future holds a hangover for us.
What do you do for fun?
We shoot rats at the dumpster.

William Kentridge
Which SA artist do you dislike the most and why?
Art Matthews. He’s just a right twat innit!
