RAKA – 12-14 Feb 2010

RAKA,

the chillest, grooviest rockfestival in the country is soon to overflow the Breede River’s banks again. Set at the breathtaking Kam’Bati River Resort outside Swellendam, the third RAKA Unplugged Festival takes place on 12-14 February 2010.

The intimate, relaxed atmosphere, excellent facilities and beautiful surroundings make this an ideal breakaway for families, friends, students or couples on a Valentines expedition. A whole weekend of camping, swimming in the river, lounging in the sun and experiencing some of SA’s best muso’s live and unplugged. There’s plenty to do with arts & crafts vendors and activities like a fun run, canoe rowing, treasure hunts, the “Breede River Floating Green Hole-in-one Challenge” etc. More fun is to be had with an attempt at braaing the world’s biggest stokbrood(bread on a stick)… watch this space!

The diverse, top quality line-up includes Albert Frost & Gerald Clark, Tidal Waves, Mr Cat & The Jackal, Zinkplaat, Ryno Velvet, No One’s Arc, Hot Water, Baarmoedergevoel, The Pretty Blue Guns, Gary Thomas, Thomas Krane and many more. And back by popular demand: “Bassondag” – the Sunday Blues All Stars collab under direction of Basson Laubscher.
